Research Grants

Research Grants will usually be made to individuals to help to cover particular research expenses, for example, travel to an archive or the acquisition of copied materials.

Applicants should usually be registered for a research degree or have an established publication record. Normally these grants will not exceed £300 each. TO APPLY: download the application form, and send in a completed copy to be received by 31 OCTOBER.

  • Star Chamber, Leasowe Castle
    Leasowe Castle is thought to have been built in about 1593 by Ferdinando, 5th earl of Derby. After the demolition of the old Exchequer Buildings at Westminster in 1836 some of the oak panelling from Star Chamber was used to panel the room shown in the photograph .
