Vikings in the North West

Our lecture on 19 June will be by Dr Clare Downham on the topic of Vikings

For our June lecture Dr Clare Downham, of the Institute of Irish Studies at the University of Liverpool, will be talking to us about ‘Vikings in the North West’.

This lecture will look at the date and evidence for Viking settlement in North West England including texts, place names, burials and sculpture. The identities of the settlers will be considered as well as their integration into local society.

The talk will be held on Wednesday, 19 June 2019, in the top floor meeting room of Liverpool Central Library starting at 2 p.m.
